Campeonato de Europa Sub18 (del 5 al 8 de Julio. Györ (Hungría))
Excelente actuación de Ana María Chacón, que bajo la dirección técnica de su entrenador Javier Blasco Morente, participaba esta temporada en su segundo encuentro internacional (después de Abrantes en Portugal), en el Olympic Sport Park de la ciudad húngara de Györ. Ana comenzó su actuación el pasado jueves 5 de julio en la jornada clasificatoria de la prueba de pértiga. Un salto de 3,80, que tuvimos la suerte de ver en directo en televisión, le permitía acceder brillantemente a la final que se iba a desarrollar el sábado. Trece fueron las atletas que participaron en la final del día 7 de julio. Concurso muy serio de Ana que pasaba las alturas del listón en 3,60 y 3,80 en su primer intento en una tarde incómoda para la prueba de pértiga con viento lateral cambiante. La siguiente altura, 3,90, estuvo a punto de franquearla en dos ocasiones, pero desafortunadamente, un pequeño roce al listón hacía que éste cayera. Como dice su entrenador: “EL listón no quiere a Ana”. Aun así, el concurso tan limpio, saltando a la primera todas las alturas, hacía que finalizara en octava posición. Puesto de finalista para Ana en este Campeonato de Europa de gran nivel. Seguimos creciendo.
Enhorabuena a Ana Mª, que nos vuelve a recordar que el empeño, el trabajo y el esfuerzo son los motores que nos permiten alcanzar nuestras metas.
